The passing of Dan McGrath, a renowned comedy writer and producer, has left a void in the entertainment industry. Born in Brooklyn on July 20, 1964, McGrath's creative path began with writing and editing for The Harvard Lampoon. This led to his involvement in Saturday Night Live, where he collaborated with comedy giants like Adam Sandler and Chris Farley. McGrath's impact on The Simpsons is undeniable, with writing credits on 50 episodes and producing credits on 24. His notable episodes, such as "The Devil and Homer Simpson" and "Homer's Phobia," earned him an Emmy in 1997. However, McGrath also faced challenges, revealing he was fired twice from the show.
McGrath's transition to King of the Hill saw him contribute to 11 episodes as a writer and 28 as a producer. His diverse portfolio also includes work on Muppets Tonight, Gravity Falls, and more.
